Graduation Requirements

Graduation Requirements

  • File a Petition for Graduation within three terms of graduation.
The form is available online or available in person at First Stop.
  • Earn a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 for all Clatsop Community College courses.
  • Complete at least 24 credits at CCC for a 2-year degree, or 12 credits at CCC for a certificate.
  • CCC strongly encourages students to contact their academic advisor regarding graduation requirements for their chosen degree or certificate.

Once the College receives a Petition for Graduation, a degree file will be processed and is considered active for a period of one year from the intended date of graduation. After one year, students will need to reapply for graduation.

Student Responsibility

It is the responsibility of the student to know and to observe the requirements of their degree or certificate program.
Although academic advisors will attempt to help students make wise decisions, the final responsibility for meeting the requirements for graduation rests upon the student.

Graduation Under a Particular Catalog

Catalog requirements are effective for five academic years. Student may graduate under the catalog requirements existing at the time of initial enrollment as long as they successfully complete at least one CCC credit applicable to degree requirements per academic year, unless they choose to meet the requirements of a later catalog. A new academic year begins each summer and ends the following spring. No catalog is valid for longer than the spring following the fifth academic year of issuance.

Some programs may impose shorter time limits on accepting credits for degree or certificate requirements. Student enrolled in programs that are accredited or licensed must meet the requirements most recently approved by the accrediting agency or licensing authority.

All returning students who have not been enrolled in a college credit course for one academic year must meet new degree requirements.

CCC reviews and updates degree requirements annually. Please note that some of the requirements for graduation may change if studies are interrupted by one or more years and/or if a course of study extends beyond five years. Depending up on the college certificated or degree, students may be asked to complete updated requirements.
