ED299 Foundation of Education
Focuses on historical foundations of education from an equity perspective; education policy and practice; legal rights and responsibilities of teachers and students; professional development of teachers; student pluralism; and current issues and effective schools, history of institutional/systemic racism in the education system, barriers and achievements to educational access. Course helps participants evaluate the impact of discrimination on marginalized communities and personal commitment to becoming a professional educator and reflective practitioner who will be able to make informed decisions to enhance the equity in the educational environment for children and youth.
