MAS183 Seamanship III
Students learn basic principles of safe operation of deck machinery and how to operate an anchor windlass. Students learn basic principles of anchoring and how to stand an anchor watch. Students continue to develop and refine their marlinspike seamanship skills. Mastery of all knots on the USCG Able Seafarer Exam is required. This class is held aboard the training vessel FORERUNNER. Prerequisite: MAS 182 Seamanship II or instructor approval.
