MAS189 Applied Rigging Technology

Students will learn about and be able to practically apply safe rigging practices with wire and synthetic rope, rigging hardware, block and tackle, chain, slings, and cargo nets. Load calculations will be required. This class is held aboard the training vessel FORERUNNER. Prerequisites: MAS 183 Seamanship III and MAS 192 Introduction to Deck Machinery and Safety.
