Oregon Transfer Module (OTM)

Overview

The Oregon Transfer Module represents approximately half (45 credits) of an associate degree. Students do not earn a degree or certificate, but any student successfully completing an OTM will be able to transfer their first year of general education requirements to any Oregon community college or public four-year Oregon university. Some private colleges or universities may apply. Students must check degree and course requirements with schools they wish to transfer to.

 

Program Requirements

  • Writing: WR121 and either WR122, WR123 or WR227.
  • Oral Communication: Students must complete one course in the fundamentals of speech or communication. This course cannot be used to meet the Arts & Letters discipline requirement.
  • Mathematics: Students must complete one course in college-level mathematics, for which MTH095 Intermediate Algebra is a prerequisite. This course cannot be used to meet the Math/Science requirement.

Institutional Requirements

  • Earn a "C" grade or higher on all Clatsop Community College coursework.
  • Have earned a "C" grade or higher on all coursework transferred from other institutions that is to be included in a Clatsop Community College OTM, degree or certificate.
  • You may apply a maximum of 12 credits of “pass” grades toward the OTM. However, Foundational Skills courses must be taken for a grade.
  • Complete at least 12 credits at Clatsop Community College.

Discipline Requirements

  • Arts & Letters: Students must complete three courses chosen from two or more disciplines.
  • Social Science: Students must complete three courses chosen from two or more disciplines.
  • Science/Mathematics: Students must complete at least two courses totaling at least ten credits, including at least one laboratory course in biological or physical science.
